herbs in healing & growth
In my studies and practice of herbal medicine, I have been inspired to synthesize a number of approaches in order to serve my clients. The core of my service in dispensing herbs lies in the recognition that without a healthy microbiome, human beings are unable to healtily absorb and release nutrients and waste. We begin there. Through testing - fecal, blood, energetic and intuitive (to include muscle testing and other methods), we seek to learn about the weak links and strengths in your body and as well, your life choices. We look at you - body, mind and spirit - so that herbal protocols can be offered, in the needed order, to address the present symptoms while also addressing the root causes.
This natural approach allows Herbal Medicine to be an effective health approach for you without concerning yourself with the hit or miss approach that comes with the absurd notion that every herb works the same way with every human being. This way of bringing herbs into your life ensures effectiveness and wholism while also acknowledging your unique needs.
Important Points To Consider:
I don’t bill you for the herbal consultation - you pay for the herbs and shipping (in some cases)
Herbal Protocols are not fixed permanently. Yes, some herbs and supplements may be in your protocol for long periods of time. However, protocols can be as short as a few days and will need you to be committed to a process that will change as your body heals and grows.
Lifestyle changes… specific forms of exercise, diet, rest or meditation recommendations may be as important as the herbal protocol. They work hand-in-hand.
This approach is developed so that you can Heal & Grow in ways that are long -term and sustaining. Be prepared for a long term journey.
Nutrition in Healing & Growth
When addressing nutrition in my Healing & Growth practice, my initial focus is in supporting the efficiency of the digestive system. In doing so we address possible causes of discomfort or pain, diarrhea, constipation and other gastrointestinal health concerns. We focus on eliminating gut dysbiosis and supporting healthy gut flora balance. We also look at the possible relationship between diet, lifestyle, and many heath conditions including autoimmune diseases. Addressing these concerns may come in the form of acupuncture, herbs/supplementation or dietary/lifestyle changes. In some cases, I will employ my experience with abdominal massage and as well, teach a self-care massage practice to clients.
The complexity of eating well in these times lies in the very unique challenges it offers to each of us. Amongst the challenges facing us includes external factors like food deserts, the proliferation of overly processed, poor quality and overly rich foods, the constraints of financial budgets and lastly, the consequences of over committed schedules, and the role of internal factors such as the relationship between habituated patterns and emotional eating. For many, these factors can become overwhelming in making choices around food and food preparation. In my own earlier life, an over-reliance on eating out led to eating highly processed and overly rich foods. It also created mismanagement of food resources within the home. Nearly 10 years ago I stopped eating out on a regular basis and instead, made eating at restaurants a special and infrequent occasion. In addition and in alignment with simplifying my life, I started growing alot of my own vegetables and as well, maintaining a flock of chickens for eggs.
