7 Questions
In our transition into 2026 here are 7 Questions To Explore about your sense of being and worth.
Context:
The contemporary meaning of worth is directly connected to value in a material sense. In contrast, the ancient root of the verb “worth” is “to become”. Before that its meaning was connected to “revolve” or “turn around”.
We encourage you to answer these 7 questions by framing them around the unique ways you help the world turn round. Deeply feel into how you truly see yourself in your life and your community.
Questions:
1- Value, worth … How do I measure myself against the backdrop of our contemporary world? Or said another way, how does my sense of value reflect what I see as the collective sense of values? Where or how do I fit in? Where do I sense my values don’t match up? As a follow up within the question, how do I allow compassion or self-compassion into how I practice in valuing myself?
2- What measures of value or worth accurately calculate the fullness of my being? Said another way, what do I include or not include in my exploration? In what ways may I not be writing into the light I am called to share in my community? Please use the poem below as a point of exploration.
OUR DEEPEST FEAR
By Marianne Williamson
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves,
“Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?”
Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the world.
There's nothing enlightened about shrinking
so that other people won't feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God
that is within us.
It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously
give other people permission to do the same.
As we're liberated from our own fear,
our presence automatically liberates others.
3- How does what I choose to measure as important or significant in my life show up in my choices? Do my choices reflect my values or vision for the future?
4- How can I learn to value my choices when the messages from the outer world may not align inwardly? Said another way, how do I measure success for myself and those that matter to me?
5- How do I cultivate an inner world that contains the strength or potency needed to stand true for myself and at the same time, stay connected with my community?
6- Using the quote below, discern what feels like ideology vs mythology within you? How does the soul’s voice, the inner voice, guide you into your unique, even extraordinary, mythology?
Ideology tries to get all people to carry the same idea. Mythology tries to get each person to have their own idea of the same thing. Quote from Michael Meade
7- How am I called, in possibly new ways, to serve my family or community as a reflection of my sense of calling, compassion or creativity?
